I am available for school visits, talks and presentations on my books, on writing and/or journalism. Since lockdown I have done a number of virtual visits to schools and also happy to record readings, talks, answer questions to suit individual school needs.
For more details see my author page on the Scottish Book Trust website (https://www.scottishbooktrust.com/authors/robin-scott-elliot) – the excellent Scottish Book Trust also help fund author visits to schools, see here
For writing workshops I talk on the theme of ‘Write your own story’, helping to inspire reading, writing and creativity among children. I discuss how I developed the idea for The Tzar’s Curious Runaways and where I look for other ideas, give a reading from The Tzar’s, take questions and then between the group and me workshop the plot for a story of their own. At the end of the session I will take the plot away and write up a short story for the group which I will print in a booklet.
I also give talks on my 25 years in journalism, how a newspaper is produced every day and tales, tall and otherwise, from years on the road meeting sportspeople and travelling across continents to watch every sport you can think of and a few you probably can’t.
